"Tomographiñ 1.1." - General purpose flaw detector
Tomographic 1.1. “General purpose flaw detector” implements the whole set of the ultrasonic flaw detector functions and allows to: •detect such flaws as discontinuities and inhomogeneities in materials, semi-finished product, finished products, welds; • measure flaws depth and occurrence coordinates; • detect thickness, propagation velocity, attenuation of ultrasonic vibrations in the material.
A number of additional functions essentially increase the device capability:
Manual and automated building of the TCG curve.
Digital filter, allowing to increase considerably the signal/noise ratio.
Manual setting of such probe parameters as frequency, prism delay, angle as well as their loading from the probe archive.
Except the standard probe frequencies, there is a possibility to adjust frequency softly from 0.4 to 10 MHz with 0.1 MHz step.
Features :
Built-in ray path displying feature (fig.1) allows more accurate locating of the flaw position in a tested object. It is important by using angle transducers and enables to estimate visually the flaw occurrence depth and position.
Except A-scan, the program allows to build B -, C- and D - scans; which are necessary for testing of welded joints as well for estimation of the flaw position.
A one-coordinate ultrasonic scanner is used to build scans and determine the probe position.
Time Of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) method is used to build a D-scan. It allows to detect reliably such flaws as cracks and measure their depth.
Signal spectrum analysis and determination of the reflected signal frequency. Evaluation of the flaw equivalent square is one of the signal processing features implemented in UD4-T.
